  Freedom Fighters or Terrorists?

Terrorism and freedom fighting are commonly discussed issues these days. Most of the propagandists who claim to be anti-terrorist are trying to prove freedom fighting as  synonymous with terrorism. In a world lacking certainties, where truth is seemingly non existent, it has become fashionable to associate freedom fighting with terrorism. This goes unchallenged by both non-Muslims and surprisingly many Muslims too. We can see how such prejudice on the part of the non Muslims often springs  from Islam phobia but we must question ourselves as to what drives Muslims to self hatred? The easy and straight forward explanation is ignorance the of facts and issues, we should refute western scandal-mongers, media distortions, and misrepresentations leading to self contempt and resentment.

Furthermore those who don't comprehend Islam and those who have an interest in distorting the truth about the religion of Islam, have been trying for long time to define freedom fighting as terrorism. Dear readers, we would like to crystallize this conundrum by quoting the Palestine cause. Attacks by Israelis on innocent Palestinians and the confiscation of their belongings are vivid examples of terrorism. Whereas, on the other side, Palestinians are fighting for their freedom and rights. So who are the real terrorists and who are the freedom fighters?

The Holy Quran clarifies that the believers must defend themselves but must never aggress. It is fact that Islam calls for the followers to be strong. The purpose of this strength is to secure peace and amnesty, provide freedom for the society and country but never to aggress unless aggressed upon.

The religion of Islam condemns the killing or even the persecution of people merely because they embrace a different religion. The Holy Quran mandates the absolute freedom of religion in society. It does not allow Muslims to fight except in self defense, in order to enforce peace and what is purely freedom fighting; it urges the Muslims to treat others kindly and equitably. We must admit that everyone has a right to live and when someone snatches this right from you, then you will fight back and you should be called a Freedom Fighter not a Terrorist.
