The chairman of Kana'an Association
Land day is the day of glory and pride. On this day we feel proud of all our
struggles and sacrifices. We are also proud of all the efforts we made to
protect, defend and get back our country.
We want to tell all the Palestinians that we will always work side by side to get back our land. We will make free our country and we will get its independence and its capital will be Al-Quds.
On this day, we should remember how the Palestinians taught Israel a lesson after Al-Intifadah. Thirty years ago and on the same day the Palestinians in Al-Nassera, Omm Al-Fahem, Al-Tibah and Kafr Yassen protested against Israel and its plans to judaize Palestine and to confiscate its lands. On that day lots of Palestinians protested and sacrificed their lives to protect their country and to maintain their identity in spite of all the Jewish forces which were working against them.
On that day, the Intifadah started in Al-Nassera amm Al-Fahmen and reach to Naples, Ramellah, Al-Quds and Gaza.
Since then, that day became a National Day. A day of struggle, independence
and freedom.
Since the day, it was established, Kana’an Association has always celebrated this day to show its support to all the Palestinians.
Kana’an Association celebrated this day through lots of festivals and activities in many of the Yemeni schools. This year’s celebration consists of the opening of “President Yasser Arafat” hall in Sana’a university. The opening of this hall expresses the support of all Yemenis to the Palestinians and support of all the students of Sana’a University.
I would like to thank Mr. Saleh Basurah for his efforts and for agreeing to call this hall “President Yasser Arafat” hall.
This hall will always stand as a reminder of the co-operation between the two nations: “between Yemen and Palestine”
We have chose to sign the contract of building “Bilquis Al-Yemen” school in Palestine. I would like to thank H.E. Mr Ali Abdullah Saleh, The President of Yemen, for his great help and support to make our projects successful.
At the end, I would like to thank all those who helped us financially.
